Mike

Michael (Mick) Knorr started diving in 1975 while in the service.   After his honorable discharge in 1976, he pursued a degree in biological sciences and education in his hometown of Moorhead, MN.  He continued to expand his SCUBA experience and education, reaching the level of instructor in 1978.  While teaching diving full time, he attained the Professional Association of Diving Instructors highest professional level, PADI Course Director, in 1987 and retains that to this day.  Mike has taught all levels of diving certification, including more than 17 specialty certifications, in the region. He has also taught instructor level programs in the Fargo/Moorhead area, Minneapolis, and Duluth.  For several years he taught technical diving programs through Technical Divers International (TDI).  He is the last active diving charter member of Valley Water Rescue which was started in 1993 and continues to volunteer with VWR as a diver.

MICK’S SCUBA was started by Mike in 1979 and he owned/operated the facility for 24 years until he sold it in 2003.  The business continues to the present as a leading Midwest PADI Five-Star Dive Center.  Mike continues to both teach classes and handle equipment repairs for MICK’S SCUBA.
