Open Water Diver (Pool) - Parts 1 & 2

When  signing up online or in person you MUST use a unquie email address per person.  Kids can not use their parents email.  This is how PADI tracks your certification.

During the PADI Open Water Diver course, you'll learn what you need to know to explore the underwater world using SCUBA. Most people find it a rewarding challenge.

The PADI Open Water Diver course includes three parts: Knowledge Development (eLearning), Confined Water Dives (pool session), and Open Water Dives. Knowledge Development covers the principles, concepts and terms you need to know for dive safety and enjoyment. You complete the eLearning at your own pace prior to your scheduled pool session (allow yourself enough time - the eLearning takes between 10-12 hours to complete).  During the Confined Water Dives (pool session over the course of a two day weekend, unless othrwise specified), you learn and practice SCUBA skills in a pool or water with pool-like conditions. You'll enjoy making one or more minidives, which take you through the same steps you follow when you make open water dives. To complete training you practice, apply and demonstrate what you learned during four Open Water Dives at a local dive site.

Earning a PADI Open Water Diver certification shows that you met the course requirements. Dive centers and resorts require proof of certification before they will rent SCUBA equipment, fill SCUBA cylinders or book dive excursions. As a PADI Open Water Diver, you'll be trained to a maximum depth of 60 feet/18 meters, and are qualified to dive in conditions as good as, or better than, those in which you trained. It's just the beginning of a lifetime filled with dive adventures.

Cancelation Policy:  eLearning is non-refundable.  Pool Training and Open Water Dives fees are non-refundable within 14 days of the class start date (store credit only).  Transferring to another class can be done within 7 days of the class start date but requires a $50 transfer fee. Failure to show for class/return to class results in forfeiture of fees.

Extra things to think about

  • Numbers are limited and you must have your eLearning completed prior to the first session so pre-register as soon as possible. Pre-registering will guarantee your spot and allow you enough time to complete your eLearning.
  • We furnish all equipment for the pool session, but diving with your own equipment can enhance your diving and learning experience. We offer our students a sizable discount on mask/fins/snorkel packages.  You must have your own mask and snorkel for personal use during the open water dives course.
  • You may want to consider doing your open water dives on one of our dive trips. Talk to us about other open water options.
